The first time I saw The Game of Life, I was confused by the fact that there were no bloody bodies. A messed up, bloody website that reveals much about life on the streets in Los Angeles during a time when drugs and gang wars were at their worst. With the production design and graphics of the film, it seems very realistic, but does the movie live up to its hype?

One thing I noticed right away is that the main character, Mike, played by Matthew McConaughey, seems very hooded. He wears a hoodie to hide his identity and also walks with a sense of detachment. This is a very smart move on his part. It makes him seem dangerous and non-immune to bullets. However, it also gives him the sense that he’s a person who can’t be harmed.
